It's ok, we're ok and this is ok.

My oldest is or should be and after a couple of weeks off I'll admit it's been hard for all of us to get back into a learning mindset.

I started gently with a view to ramping it up as the days went on but after a few 'no's' and 'I'm not doing that' I thought to myself it's ok, we're ok and this is ok.

Things are hard right now and you have no idea how grateful I am to be able to say we've got it better than most. Me and my husband work from home and we tag team - i do the mornings while he goes to work and then we swap in the afternoons.

But keeping one nearly 7 year old busy whilst keeping an eye on a nearly 3 year old has its challenges. I don't believe there is any point or any need to shout or get upset so I'm doing all i can to keep my cool and keep the feelings of frustration at bay.

This is what I really want to share with you.

Journaling can help with that.

Here are some journal prompts for you to think about.

✨What do you want your child to come out of this experience with? ✨What do you want your family to be? ✨What do you want them to have? ✨How do you want them to feel? ✨How do you want to feel? ✨How can you approach this in a calm, loving way? ✨What healthy coping techniques can you use for you and your child/family?✨What rewards can you use to encourage your child to learn? ✨What sensible compromises can you make together? ✨What is realistic for you and your family at this time?✨ What's the best way to explain all of this to your child?✨What's the most loving thing you can do for yourself and your family right now?
